How to Start the Honda Civic with Remote Start

The 2022 Honda Civic provides excellent features, including an upscale appearance and a pleasant and comfortable updated cabin, among other features. The remote start feature, in particular, helps you power up your car from a distance.

Number 7 Honda is here to help explain how to remote start Honda Civic 2022. And while you're at it, check out our new inventory and visit our dealership for a test drive.

How It Works

Although the Civic remote start capability should work from 400 feet away, we recommend coming within 100 feet for accuracy. Then, follow these steps to get your Civic running:

  1. Tap the “ Lock” button on your car key fob.
  2. Click and hold the button on the remote starter. This may take between three and five seconds.
  3. Wait for your Honda Civic’s lights to flash. Once the headlights begin to flicker, you are ready to go!
  4. Your Honda will operate for about 10 minutes, after which the engine will shut off automatically.

Additional Remote Start Advice

Ahead of trying out the remote start features of your Honda Civic, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. If you don't want your engine to shut off after 10 minutes, repeat the starting up process to prolong your engine's awake time.
  2. Use remote start only when your car is in a well-ventilated place, such as outdoors. Otherwise, you risk dangerous carbon monoxide accumulation.
  3. Avoid starting your Honda Civic remotely near flammable materials. If your vehicle is surrounded by dead grass, oil, or grease, you should transfer it to a safer spot before starting it.
  4. The remote start function only works when there's no other remote in your vehicle.
