Exhausts

The exhaust system is designed to move toxic emissions away from the front of the vehicle, reduce engine noise and maintain fuel efficiency. The exhaust's, converter and monitoring system's jobs are to maintain the correct balance of emissions and to make sure the engine is running properly.

What can go wrong?

The inside of the exhaust's system can be corroded by acids formed when the fuel is burnt. The exhaust will also wear out quicker if the journeys are shorter than those of longer magnitude because the acids have time to collect in the system. The catalytic converter filter can become blocked which will result in poor fuel consumption, engine damage and higher levels of pollution.

What can you do?

Continue to have your vehicle serviced regularly, including a fuel treatment service to maintain its full potential. If you notice any additional noise or feel the vehicle is running poorly, have it serviced immediately.
